U-20 Libertadores: Cortuluá gets their first victory; River defends title

Cortuluá obtains first victory, defeats Huachipato (4-2)

A game that during the second half took place in a heavy rainfall saw Cortuluá defeat Huachipato 4-2 in the Manuel Ferreira stadium in Asunción.

The goals for the Colombians were scored by Jeison Angulo at 18 minutes, José Palacios at 33 minutes, Heisen Izquierdo at the 77 minute mark and Oscar Camilo in the final minutes of stoppage time. Camilo Pontoni scored the first goal for the Chileans and Martin Molini added the second from the penalty spot.

River wins over Deportivo La Guaira 1-0

River Plate of Argentina, the reigning U-20 Libertadores champion, earned their second consecutive victory defeating Deportivo La Guaira 1-0.

During the first 45 minutes of play the match was very frantic as a result of the heavy rain that fell in Asuncion. But it was another River Plate that came out in the second half. Just two minutes in and Abel Casquete scored the goal that woke up the fans.

The Venezuelan team had several occasions to tie the game, which put River's defense on their heels, but they woudl hold firm and the match would end 1-0.
