The president of the South American Football Confederation, Juan Angel Napout, sent a letter of congratulations to Mr. Rodolfo D'Onofrio, owner of Argentina's River Plate Club, due to their crowning of the Recopa Santander Sudamericana Tournament.
CONMEBOL.com is hereby releasing the letter of the President:
Mr. Rodolfo D'Onofrio, President
Club Atlético River Plate
Buenos Aires, Argentina
In the recent past, when you assumed the presidency of your club, you weighed the situation with the uncertainty of something new and very complex. Soon, however, you opened the way to what every leader aims: Build prestige and generate a sense of pride by reaching your goals and making extended accomplishments.
River Plate, under your administration, dear friend, has renewed its fame. The conquests of the Argentinean Football Association's Tournament, the Copa Sudamericana Tournament in 2014 and recently the Recopa Tournament, on Wednesday, February 11th, are great examples of that.
I reiterate my congratulations, and express my congratulations to the members of your Board of Directors, Mr. Marcelo Gallardo and all members of the championship team.
Juan Angel Napout
Luque, Greater Asunción, February 12, 2015
