Ecuador's U-17 team travels on March 1 to Paraguay

On Sunday, March 1st the Ecuadorian national team will leave Quito for Asuncion. On March 6 the team will face Argentina in their debut at the U-17 Sudamericano. 

The Sudamericano tournament will be held in Paraguay from March 4 to 29. The winners will qualify to the World Cup to be held in Chile in November and December.


The team, led by Xavier Rodríguez, will train at the Fedenador complex. The team will train today from 9 am to 11 am and in the afternoon from 3 pm to 4:30 pm.

The team is made up of José Cevallos (LDU de Quito), Leodán Chalá (El Nacional) y Giancarlos Terreros (Barcelona), Jhonner Montezuma (Norte América), Francisco Obando (Independiente del Valle), Joel Quinteros (Emelec), Andy Casquete (LDU de Quito), Byron Castillo (Norte América), Pervis Estupiñán (LDU de Quito), Joan Cortez (Norte América), Alan Franco (Independiente del Valle), Renny Jaramillo (América), Joao Montaño (América), Anderson Naula (LDU de Loja), Juan Nazareno (Independiente del Valle), Jean Carlos Peña (El Nacional), Fabiano Tello (Independiente del Valle), Peter Valencia (River Plate), Angel Vásquez (Barcelona), Arturo Batioja (Emelec), Washington Corozo (Emelec), Jhoel Montaño (Dep. Azogues) and Jhon Pereira (Norte América).


The South American Football Confederation informed the FEF thatreferee Carlos Orbe and assistant referees Juan Carlos Macias and Edwin Bravo, have been designated as part of the arbitration team for this Sudamericano.
