CONMEBOL, through the Medical Commission and the Anti-Doping Unit, warns the participating clubs at the Copa Bridgestone Libertadores who will play in Mexico about the danger of the substance called clenbuterol.
The letter is signed by Dr. Osvaldo Pangrazio, president of the Medical Commission and director of the Anti-Doping Unit of CONMEBOL, and is directed to the clubs and, more specifically, to the medical departments of each institution.

Copa Libertadores 2016
Ref.: Consumption of red meat
I would like to inform all participating clubs at the Copa Bridgestone Libertadores 2016 to refrain from eating red meat during your stay in the country of Mexico.
The reason for this statement is due to possible contamination of the meat with the substance clenbuterol. This substance is an anabolic that promotes muscle growth and inhibits fat accumulation in the body. This substance is prohibited by the Prohibited List of the World Doping Agency (WADA), by CONMEBOL and FIFA.
