Assembly for Colombian Football Federation: Progress and stabilitiy in their budget

The Executive Committee of the FCF presented the balance sheet for the period 2010-2014 within the framework of the Assembly of the FCF, which was attended by representatives of 36 professional clubs and 34 leagues in the country.

At the Assembly, the successful business management conducted by the Executive Committee was highlighted as well as the support provided by the 70 members of the FCF.  This kind of union has been vital to consolidate a process which has delivered positive results for Colombian football.

The main achievements of the Colombian teams during this period can not be analyzed in isolation to the years in consideration, but rather is the result of constant and arduous work through many more years supported by a process of preparation, planning and structure by each of the technical bodies.

Between 2011 and 2014 the Federation invested an excess of 140 billion pesos to support the processes of all national teams.  Of these funds, 72% was for the Men's National Team, 12% for the U-20, U-17  and U-15 teams, 5% for the Women's National Teams, and 2% for the Futsal and Beach soccer teams, while 9% was used for the federation tournaments.

In 2010, the FCF initiated a restructuring program of its sponsorship scheme, along with the concerning organizations and world leaders in marketing issues, which included FIFA, UEFA, federations of Brazil, Germany and the US associations, among others.

Official sponsors, official partners, collaborators and suppliers were involved, and as a result, a model of commercialization and marketing structured on three levels was developed.  This marketing plan was consolidated during the Brazil 2014 World Cup and as a result the program showed a sustained growth of 460%.

These resources were invested in the preparation of all the Colombian national teams, an investment that has allowed many world known Colombian players to become an important part of the international transfer market.  Only in 2014, according to figures from FIFA TMS, 255 Colombian players had a hand in the influence in football throughout the world, which generated close to 48 billion pesos in revenues.

The Assembly of 2012 approved and supported the construction plans while adapting the administrative headquarters.  These facilities will open in mid-2015, and will be the workplace of Fedefútbol, Dimayor and Difútbol, while becoming a true symbol of the unity of Colombian football.

Finally, on the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility, it was established, with the help of Bavaria, the Foundation Colombia Soccer Team whose goal is to work on issues related to children in vulnerable conditions and better their future through Soccer.  Currently the issue is being studied and major plans to develop this program are ongoing and will be added to the existing 11 health and World Coach programs.
