The 'Canarinha' won with goals from Andrei (38) and Leandro (41 and 77 minutes). Paraguay had opened the scoring after seven minutes through Arturo Aranda with the help of Brazilian goalkeeper Julian, who let the ball slip through his hands from a shot from outside the box.
Paraguay momentarily tied the game 2-2 in the 67th minute with a goal against from Brazilian defender Caique.
Striker Leandro (leads the championship with eight goals) would score the third and decisive goal after a solo run.
With their victory, Brazil temporarily leads the final round with 9 points while Paraguay's (4 points) hopes of qualifying are seriously dented with this defeat.
Argentina, contesting the final game of the round on Thursday against Uruguay (3 points), sits on 7 points. Ecuador with their victory over Colombia also accumulated 7 points.
The Sudamericano gives four spots to the World Cup.
