Uruguay advances while defeating Argentina 5-3, as Ecuador does the same while overcoming Chile 5-4

Uruguay wins 5-3 in the classic rivalry against Argentina

In a dramatic encounter, where leads changed in several occasions, Uruguay won the traditional Classical Rio de la Plata confrontation against Argentina 5-3, as the team was led from the stands by  head coach, Gustavo Casado.

The goals for the Uruguayans were scored by Gonzalo Rosa (1), Richard Catardo (1), Matías Cabrera (1) and Sarandi Sobral (2).

While Ferico Costas (1), Lucas Medero (1) and Jonathan Levi (1) kept the Argentinean at least at arms length.

Argentina will measure up against Brazil on Thursday at 15:30 hours, while Peru and Uruguay will meet at 13:00 hours at the start of the fifth date of the championship.

 

Ecuador defeated Chile 5-4  and classifies for the semifinals

With still one match left to play on Thursday against Paraguay, Ecuador qualified to the semifinals of the Beach Soccer Sudamericano Championship round after defeating Chile 5-4.

It was a close and an intense game, as the results even had to be defined in the final minutes.

Ecuador, thus achieved its third consecutive victory along with the euphoria of the fans, who once again took a clean sweep at the beach stadium.

The scores were made by Second Moreira (2), Daniel Cedeño (1) Virley Conforme and Hugo Cevallos (1).

While Chile came very close with definitions from Alberto Echeverría (2), Diego Estay (1) and Sebastian Montecino (1).

Ecuador will face Paraguay on Thursday at 16:45 hours. Both teams have already qualified.
