Peru ended with Uruguayan dream
Uruguay wanted to beat Peru and so secure their qualification to the semifinals of the Beach Soccer Sudamericano Championship held in Manta, however, Uruguay surprising lost and so Peru is awaiting the match between Brazil and Argentina to know whether they will be in the next phase of the tournament whose three best placed teams will represent the region at the World Cup to be played in Portugal in September.
In the end, the score of 8-4 in favor of the Rimac buried the dream of the Uruguayans to access the privileged group of this competition whose organization is the responsibility of CONMEBOL and the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
The Uruguayan reaction was late. The first two thirds were dominated by Peru that in the first half jumped out to a 2-1 lead and then in the second half made it 4-1.
The Peruvian goals were scored by Billywardo Velezmoro (1), Angelo Castro (4), Javier Zagaceta (1), Andy Moscoso (1) and Socrates Vidal (1).
The Uruguayan goals were scored by Marcelo Capurro (1), Saranbdi Sobral (2) and Gonzalo Rosa (1).
Colombia falls to Chile 3-6
Chile defeated 6-3 a Colombian team coached by John Jairo Gomez.
The match was watched by almost 1,500 fans.
Scoring for Chile were Diego Stay, Victor Belaunde (3), Alberto Echeverría (1) and Abel Valenzuela (1).
Scoring for Colombia were Omar Ortega (1) and Marcos Prado (1). The third was an own-goal by Chilean Sergio Argote.
