Brazil beat Panama 3-1 in overtime to win the bronze medal on Saturday in Toronto at the 2015 Pan American Games.
Panama took the lead on the stroke of halftime (45+2) thanks to Josiel Núñez, but the 'Canarinhá came back thanks to a penalty from Luciano (76) and a superb strike from Lucas Piazón (99).
In the dying minutes and with the Panamanians pushed forward in attack (114), Luciano scored his second to put the game out of reach.
"It (Bronze) is important because when we left Brazil we planned to give opportunities to new players here in order to help the Olympic team (in Rio-2016). So the goal was met," said Brazil coach Mario Reis Micale after the match.
Brazil lost 2-1 Thursday against Uruguay in the semifinals.
"The bronze is good for us but we expected to fight for the gold. Unfortunately we lost concentration for five minutes and could not advance to the final. This victory makes us feel better and gives us the satisfaction of a job well done," he added.
Meanwhile, Panama is leaving the games with their head held high despite falling to Mexico 2-1 in the semis and having fought the 'Canarinhá' until the last minute.
