It was a day that will remain forever in the memory of all the players of the Brazilian Women's Team. On Thursday, July 30, the delegation of the Pan American champion was received by the president of the CBF, Marco Polo Del Nero, at the headquarters of the entity for a lunch.
In the restaurant of the presidency, the players and members of the coaching staff were applauded by employees and executives of the CBF. Sitting at the table of the delegation were President Marco Polo, coordinator Marco Aurelio Cunha, coordinator of selections, Gilmar Rinaldi, Secretary General, Walter Feldman, and the Municipal Secretary of Education of Rio de Janeiro, Helena Bomeny.
The President's discourse:
- The result didn't happen at the World Cup, but in a conversation with Marco Aurelio, all remained and the conquest came at the Pan American Games. You played great! You deserved the gold medals!
The Coordinator, Marco Aurelio Cunha, welcomed the opportunity:
- I want to thank the President for the confidence in our work, the coaching staff for their dedication and commitment in all departments and especially the players for each game. The work continues and everyone can be sure that we will fight for Olympic gold.
Formiga, the captain and author of the first goal of the final against Colombia, spoke on behalf of her teammates:
- We are very happy to be here. And you, Mr. President, can rest assured that we will fight even more. We are going for gold at the Olympics.
The midfielder of the team honored the president by presenting him with a captaincy armband that she used in winning the Pan American title.
The next match of the women's team is on September 19, a friendly against France in Le Havre, France.
