The Copa América Centenario party starts on January 8 in Panama

.

A doubleheader: Panama vs. Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago vs. Haiti is on the football agenda for Friday, January 8, 2016, in the Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama City. The winner of each match secures a place in the Copa America Centenario. The exact times of the matches will be announced at a later date.

The four teams earned their place thanks to their performance in the 2015 Gold Cup, where Cuba, Haiti, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago advanced to the quarterfinals.

The right to host the playoff games was won by Panama thanks to their finish in the 2015 Gold Cup, where they advanced to the semifinals and ended up getting third place in the competition.

There are six CONCACAF representatives in the Copa America Centenario. Four national teams have already secured their participation: Mexico, winner of the 2015 Gold Cup; The US, Gold Cup champion in 2013 and host of the event; Costa Rica – Central American reigning champion; Jamaica, champion of the Caribbean Cup.

The tournament will be played in the United States from June 3-26, 2016 and will mark the first time the tournament will be played outside of South America. The historic competition is commemorating its 100th anniversary.
