With Just eight days until the official draw in Medellin, the FIFA Futsal World Cup Colombia-2016 knows the 24 teams that will be in Bucaramanga, Cali and Medellin from September 10 to October 1.
The final round of the group stage of CONCACAF qualifying in Costa Rica took place on Tuesday, May 10. The four teams who will be representing the region are Panama, Guatemala, Cuba and Costa Rica.
Group A was won by Panama, which despite reaching the middle of their match with the score 0-2 against Mexico they managed to come back in the second half. The Canaleros eventually prevailed 4-3.
Guatemala finished second after a 6-4 win over Honduras. The Chapines will play their fourth World Cup, third in a row.
In Group B play Cuba beat Canada 7-4 and snatched second place. Cuba, absent in 2012, will be in their fifth FIFA World Cup.
The round ended with Costa Rica defeating Curacao 6-3. The Ticos finished at the top with 9 points.
In the semifinals, on Thursday May 12, Costa Rica will face Guatemala and Panama faces Cuba. The winners will meet in the final on Saturday the 14th.
