Colombia got off on the right foot at the Copa America Centenario with a solid 2-0 win against hosts United States on Friday.

Defender Cristian Zapata scored the first goal of the tournament at 8 minutes off a corner and James Rodriguez made it 2-0 at 42 minutes from the penalty spot.  4

A yellow wave of tens of thousands of Colombian supporters put color into the opening of the tournament in tbe beautiful Levi's stadium that was packed with 67,439 spectators, organizers said.
