The Chilean Football Federation defined the cities that will host the 2015 Copa América and the U-17 World Cup that will be held the same year in the South American country, in a report that was presented to the Chilean government.

The Chilean Football Federation defined the cities that will host the 2015 Copa América and the U-17 World Cup that will be held the same year in the South American country, in a report that was presented to the Chilean government.

The host cities for the 2015 Copa América will be Santiago, Antofagasta, La Serena, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Temuco, and Rancagua”indicated the report delivered Friday by the president of Chilean football, Sergio Jadue, to the government spokesman, Cecilia Pérez, and the Under Secretary of Sports, Gabriel Ruiz Tagle.

The 2015 Copa América will be played in Chile after Brazil desisted from organizing it because of the pressure of organizing the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup, and the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.

The tournament will consist of the 10 teams from South America plus the two invites, Mexico and Japan.

The last Copa América that was held in Chile was back in 1991 which was won by Argentina.

Meanwhile, the U-17 World Cup to be held in Chile in 2015 will be divided between the cities of Chillán, Puerto Montt, Talca, Copiapó, Coquimbo, Quillota, Santiago, La Serena, and Viña del Mar.

The Chilean Football Federation ruled out eliminating two locations and will stay with seven venues for the youth tournament in which 24 teams will participate.
