Peru could play their final World Cup qualifier in front of the public, on October 15 in Lima against Bolivia, FIFA announced.

On Wednesday the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) said it had appealed the sanction by FIFA to play behind closed doors for the next qualifier.

FIFA said in a statement on Thursday that their appeals commission «will not make a decision« before the PeruBolivia match.

Last Friday, FIFA notified the FPF of the sanction imposed due to two fans entering the National Stadium field who tried to attack the Argentine referee Patrick Loustau.

Initially, in addition to the punishment of playing a match behind closed doors, FIFA imposed on the FPF an economic fine of 20,000 Swiss francs (about $22,000).

The Peruvian police prevented in that game Patrick Loustau and his two assistants from being attacked by two fans who entered the pitch who were very upset about the officiating.

In the seventeenth round of the World Cup qualifiers, Peru will visit Argentina in Buenos Aires on October 11, and four days later they welcome Bolivia in Lima at the National Stadium.
