With 111 games played for the senior team as well as with all the youth teams of the country, Paulo da Sailva became the record holder for his country.
Besides the youth and senor teams for his country da Silva has played for several teams in several countries. He played for Atlántida, Presidente Hayes, Sport Colombia, Cerro Porteño and Libertad in Paraguay while abroad he played for Lanùs of Argentina, Venezia in Italy, Toluca and Pachuca of Mexico, Sunderland in England and Zaragoza in Spain. He played for Paraguay in two World Cups; Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
"I feel very happy for having reached this milestone but what really is important is that the team does well. I have played with many players that i admire like Carlos Gamarra for example and this record I share with my family and all the teammates I have had over the years on the team".
