Romagnoli dedicates Libertadores Cup to fans

Leandro 'Pipi' Romagnoli, midfielder of San Lorenzo dedicated the victory to the "loyal fans" after becoming champions for the first time of the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday after the 1-0 win over Nacional of Paraguay.

"I can not speak (with a choked back tears.) But I want to dedicate this victory to the amazing fans who encouraged during the entire match," he said.

Romagnolim, as team captain, received the trophy while midfielder Nestor Ortigoza  who scored the winning goal was proclaimed the best player of the match.

Ortigoza scored in the 36th minute, when the tricolor Guarani was dominating the match, as in most of the match.

"This is exciting, we put everything on the court," said Ortigoza.

The Sanlorencista Coach, Edgardo 'Paton' Bauza, who was already Cup champion in 2008 at the head of the Ecuadorian League, said that "the team was hampered by nerves, by tension in the first half, but then started recovering control ".

It was the first final for both Nacional of Paraguay and San Lorenzo.
