Copa Bridgestone Libertadores: Boca Juniors defeats Nacional 4-3 in penalties

Boca Juniors of Argentina advanced to the semifinals of the 2016 Copa Libertadores by beating Nacional of Uruguay 4-3 in a penalty shootout after regulation time ended 1-1.  

The first leg had also ended in a 1-1 draw. 

Scoring first was Nacional in the 21st minute through Daniel Diaz. Cristian Pavon equalized in the 73rd minute.

In the penalty shootout scoring for Nacional were Diego Polenta, Mauricio Victorino and Sebastián Fernández. Missing on their chance was Gonzalo Porras, Santiago Romero and Felipe Carballo. Boca got goals from Carlos Tevez, Daniel Díaz, Frank Fabra and Federico Carrizo. Missing were Pablo Pérez and Juan Insaurralde.
