One of the founders of CONMEBOL and one of the oldest federations in the world. It depends on the ANFP (Professional Football Association) and ANFA (National Amateur Football Association), which converge to form the National Football Institute.
The Republic of Chile hosted the 1962 World Cup. In 2015, the country will host the Copa América for the seventh time. It has also hosted the 2008 Women's World Cup and U-20 Men's WC in 1987. In 2015 Chile will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Among the federation's sporting achievements is club Colo Colo, América champion in 1991 and Universidad de Chile, Sudamericana champion in 2011.
In women's football Colo Colo won the Libertadores in 2012.
