- Between July 31 and August 2, Quito hosted important activities that promote the growth of women’s soccer in South America.
- These initiatives were developed within the framework of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina Ecuador 2025™.
CONMEBOL, through its Development Department and the CONMEBOL Evolution Program, organized a series of events aimed at strengthening women’s soccer, coinciding with the celebration of the finals of the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina Ecuador 2025™.
Under the slogan “Born to be champions,” two key actions were carried out that brought together leaders from the ten CONMEBOL Member Associations, women’s soccer experts, players, and CONMEBOL and FIFA authorities, with the aim of continuing to build a solid path for the development of women’s soccer in the region.
– Strategic meetings for women’s soccer –
On July 31 and August 2, high-level meetings were held to discuss key issues such as the regional strategy for women’s soccer, the new CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League tournament, as well as experiences, challenges, and lessons learned shared by those who live and breathe soccer every day.
CONMEBOL was represented by:

– Inspiration and training for the next generation –
On August 1, the Instituto Superior Tecnológico de Fútbol de Quito (ISTFQ) hosted a special event for girls from schools and sports clubs. More than 80 participants enjoyed an unforgettable experience alongside leading figures from South American soccer and representatives from the ten Member Associations.
They highlighted the event as an opportunity to begin developing their skills, learn from great role models, and strengthen their love for the sport.
For the invited players and coaches, it was a unique opportunity to share their stories and reaffirm that the future of women’s soccer is in the hands of these new generations.
The event culminated with the official presentation of the new CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina™️ trophy and the awarding of medals to all participants, as a symbol of recognition and motivation.

These activities are part of the ongoing work that CONMEBOL has been carrying out since 2016 under the presidency of Alejandro Domínguez, through the Evolution Program. Initiatives such as “Born to be champions” reaffirm the commitment to continue building a women’s soccer that is increasingly strong, inclusive, and with international projection.
