The talent and quality of the South American footballer was represented by Lionel Messi, Neymar, Claudio Bravo and James Rodrigues who were honored at the gala of the Professional Football League of Spain.

Messi won two awards: the best player in the league last season and the best striker.

Last season, the Argentine scored 43 goals in 38 games and became the leading scorer in league history surpassing the 251 goals scored by Telmo Zarra (in 1955). He also became the player with the most hat-tricks, with 24.

It is the sixth time that Messi has won the award for best player in the league. Messi is the favorite to win his fifth Golden Ball on January 11 in Zurich.

"It is an honor for me to receive this award with so many important players in the league. I am very happy. This in particular I want to dedicate to my son Thiago, who every time I leave gets angry and tells me" again you're going to score a goal?" said the Barcelona star on collecting the award for best player.

Apart from Messi, Barcelona was rewarded for their great season last year with Neymar begin awarded the best South American player in the league and Chilean Claudio Bravo receiving the best goalkeeper award.

Speaking to Spanish Television the Brazilian spoke about his being among the three finalists for the Golden Ball-2015: "It is a great honor to be among the three, with Cristiano and Messi, for me it's great."

Uruguayan Luis Suarez congratulated his colleagues via Twitter: "Congratulations friends!!!! Very proud of you. Truly happy."

Meanwhile, Bravo said on receiving the award for best goalkeeper: "Being here is a privilege, it's a big prize. Goalkeepers fulfill a very important function that only a few can do."

Colombian James Rodriguez was named best midfielder.

"I am happy to have won this award. I want to thank my teammates who are the ones who are always there and always help me," said James.
