Brazilian club Bahia announced on Thursday the signing of Argentineans’ Maxi and Emanuel Biancucchi Argentines, who are cousins of FC Barcelona star, Lionel Messi.
Bahia made the announcement on its website showing a photo of the two players posing with their cousin Lionel Messi.
Emanuel was part of Club Olimpia of Paraguay, runner-up at the 2013 Copa Libertadores.
The 25 year old midfielder played his early professional years on German club TSV 1860 München (2008-2011). He played for Paraguayan club Independiente and, according to Bahia’s website, he «stands out on free kicks.»
He signed a contract until the end of this season, while his 29 year old brother Maxi, striker, will remain at the club for three years.
Maxi played last year in Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia (northeast), with club Vitoria, archrival of Bahia, with who he did not renew his contract due to lack of agreement on salary.
With the ‘leao‘ he scored 17 goals.
He also played in Brazil with Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro (2007 and 2009).
Meanwhile, the «flea«, the famous cousin, returned to action on Wednesday with a brace against Getafe, after two months out recovering from injury.
