The U-15 Sudamericano begins on Saturday, November 16, in Bolivia. This is the only competition in this category, worldwide, organized by a confederation.
This event was the last created by CONMEBOL with the aim of providing a comprehensive education to adolescents in their formative stage and to gain international exposure.
The first tournament was held in 2004 and was an under-16 tournament, but a year later it went to U-15 and since there have been three editions.
The titles are divided between Brazil and Paraguay. The ‘albirroja’ was champion in 2004 and 2009, while the Brazilian team won it in 2005, 2007 and 2011.
Montero joins Santa Cruz and Tarija as venues for the tournament.
The selections are divided into two groups: Bolivia, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Peru comprise Group A, while Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela are in Group B.
The games are divided between the following stadiums: Gilberto Parada, Tahuichi Aguilera Costas and Centenario IV .
Argentina vs. Ecuador will kick off the tournament on Saturday at 2 pm in the Centenary IV stadium in the city of Tarija. The day will come to an end with the hosts taking on Paraguay at 4 pm.
