Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, internationally known as Vasco da Gama, from Rio de Janeiro, celebrates 116 years of institutional life. Since 2008 the club has been chaired by Roberto Dinamita.
Vasco won the first tournament of clubs at a continental level in 1948, which would 12 years later become the Copa Libertadores which they won in 1998, coinciding with the centenary of their founding.
Many big names have spent time at the club including the current president of the club, along with Romario, Bebeto, Moarcir, Ricardo Gomes, Felipe Loureiro and Juninho Pernambucano, to name but a few of the stars of this popular institution based in Rio de Janeiro.
