The Copa América Chile-2015 will be held from June 11 to July 4 of next year. It is the decision of the authorities of CONMEBOL, which met on Tuesday, February 11th at the House of South American Football, under the chairmanship of Mr. Eugenio Figueredo.

An exhibition of the work done and what remains to be done was explained by Sergio Jadue, President of the Chilean Football Federation and VicePresident of CONMEBOL, in regards to the work that Chile is facing in relation to the most important competition at a national level in South America.

Mr. Jadue explained all the details of the organization and that his country will honor the commitment to South American. Mr. Jadue announced the eight cities that will host the oldest tournament in the world: Antofagasta, Valparaiso, La Serena, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Temuco, Rancagua and the capital Santiago.

Luis Bedoya and Sergio Jadue share a moment. The Chilean leader reported on the 2015 Copa América.

Congress in Sao Paulo

THE 64th Ordinary Congress of the South American Football Confederation will be held on June 8 of this year to mark the centenary of the founding of the Brazilian Football Confederation in the city of Sao Paulo, a few days before the start of the FIFA World Cup.

The conclave is the highest institutional event, where President Eugenio Figueredo will relate all activities carried out under his administration. In this sense the highest body of South American football approved the new statute that went into effect on 1 August 2013, together with new laws, whose orientation tends to modernity and institutional consolidation. The most striking in this regard is the enactment of the three vice-presidents: Napout Juan Ángel, Luis Bedoya and Sergio Jadue, in that order. Also the appointment of Carlos Chávez Landívar as the new treasurer of the entity.

Under-15

Another topic discussed at the meeting of the EC refers to the U-15 Sudamericano Championship, the only official tournament of a Confederation. Incidentally, it was decided that the tournament will be staged on a rotating basis in alphabetical order.

Another determination is beach soccer qualifying. The Ecuadorian Football Federation assumed its organization, ahead of the Portugal 2015 World Cup. The competition will be held in the city of Manta, Ecuador.
